The Birth Buddy
In the U.S., tens of thousands of families enter parenthood without the information or support they need to thrive. Disparities in access to maternal and child health resources continue to affect the well-being of parents and infants—especially in underserved communities.

MCH Directory
With families in mind, we carefully curated our listings in collaboration with maternal and child health professionals, community leaders, and public health experts. This ensures that the resources we share are trustworthy, relevant, and culturally sensitive. We focus on inclusivity so families from all backgrounds can find support that meets their unique needs.
Building the Next Generation Maternal & Child Health Workforce
The Birth Buddy develops future leaders in maternal and child health through hands-on service and community engagement. Its Volunteer Program offers opportunities for individuals to contribute through research, community outreach, content creation, translation, tech support, and more—building practical skills while supporting equitable maternal health.
Simultaneously, the State Ambassador Program cultivates grassroots advocates who map local resources and expand maternal health access in their communities. Together, these programs prepare emerging professionals to lead in a more inclusive and informed maternal and child health workforce.
Births Count International
Births Count International is the global operations arm of Births Count, committed to improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes in under-resourced regions, particularly across Sub-Saharan Africa. Our mission is to empower women, families, and communities by addressing the root causes of preventable maternal and newborn deaths through local capacity building, provision of essential supplies, and strategic, community-based partnerships.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—especially Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being and Goal 5: Gender Equality—we focus on expanding access to respectful, quality care delivered by midwives, community health workers, and grassroots organizations. We envision a world where every woman and child, regardless of geography or income, has the opportunity to not only survive, but to thrive.
